Two women stand side by side in front of a gray brick wall featuring a large Dorchester School District Four “D4” logo and the words “Everyday Hero” in a circular design. The woman on the left wears a royal blue sweater and a patterned blouse, smiling softly at the camera. The woman on the right wears a light-colored blouse with floral embroidery, a lanyard with keys and ID badge, and smiles with one hand on her hip.

Dorchester School District Four will recognize two outstanding employees as the district’s January Everyday Heroes during the February Board of Trustees meeting. The Everyday Hero program honors staff members whose dedication, character, and daily service strengthen schools and support student success. Honorees receive a certificate of appreciation and a commemorative coin from Superintendent Jeffrey Beckwith.

One honoree is Kristina Brandt, School Counselor at Woodland Middle School. Ms. Brandt was nominated by Principal Benji Kennedy, who noted that she joined Woodland Middle School during her practicum last year and quickly became an integral part of the Wolf Pack. Known for her high energy and encouragement, Ms. Brandt plays a key role in creating and implementing positive activities across campus while maintaining a caring, open-door approach for students in need. Her compassion, accessibility, and commitment to both students and staff have made her an essential contributor to the school’s continued success.

The district will also honor Mary Primus, Teacher at Woodland High School. Mrs. Primus was nominated by Principal Michael White, who described her as a bedrock of the school community. Dependable and driven, Mrs. Primus consistently goes beyond expectations to support Woodland High School in a wide range of efforts, including graduation activities and the Mrs. Woodland High School Pageant. In addition, she teaches at Odyssey Educational Center, helping ensure all scholars have opportunities to succeed. Her work reflects a holistic approach to student support and a deep commitment to excellence.

These honorees demonstrate that meaningful impact often comes through steady service, professionalism, and a willingness to support students wherever the need exists. Dorchester School District Four is grateful for the dedication and care these January Everyday Heroes bring to their schools and to the district as a whole.
