Dorchester School District Four (DD4) believes that athletics are an extension of the classroom, providing students with opportunities to grow in leadership, teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. Our athletic programs support the district’s mission of developing the whole child by fostering school pride, promoting sportsmanship, and encouraging lifelong fitness and wellness.

The DD4 Athletics Department oversees and coordinates athletic opportunities across our elementary, middle, and high schools. Students have access to a wide range of sports sanctioned by the South Carolina High School League, including football, basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, track and field, cross country, wrestling, tennis, and golf. In addition, the district supports elementary-level basketball and soccer programs to help young students build skills and confidence early.

Beyond competition, the Athletics Department ensures compliance with state eligibility standards, manages athletic facilities, schedules events, and provides safe transportation for student-athletes. Extracurricular activities are supported by district-owned activity buses and staffed by trained drivers.

Through athletics, DD4 strives to cultivate resilience, leadership, and teamwork; qualities that prepare students for success in college, careers, and life.
