Dorchester School District Four is proud to announce that four multilingual students have earned the prestigious Seal of Biliteracy, a national honor awarded to students who demonstrate proficiency in both English and an additional language.
This year marks the first time Dorchester District Four has participated in the Seal of Biliteracy program, awarded annually by the South Carolina Department of Education. The Seal of Biliteracy celebrates the value of bilingualism, offering students a significant advantage in college admissions and future career opportunities.
The following students successfully completed the assessment requirements and have been recognized with this distinguished honor:
Karla Hernandez
Ismael Silva
Dayinely Pulido
Rodrigo Mendez
The district’s Student Services Department, which coordinated the effort, expressed pride in the students' achievements and appreciation for the support from teachers, administrators, and families.
Dorchester District Four remains committed to encouraging and celebrating multilingual achievement across all schools, and looks forward to continuing this initiative in future years.
