Woodland High School had the honor of hosting the Be Pro Be Proud mobile workshop last Thursday and Friday, giving students a hands-on opportunity to explore in-demand career paths.

Be Pro Be Proud is a national initiative designed to connect young people with the skilled professions that power our economy. Through immersive, interactive experiences, students learn that these careers are not only essential but also high-tech, high-wage, and full of opportunity.

Inside the Experience

The custom-built semi-truck workshop transforms into a mobile career exploration center where students can:

  • Explore high-tech, high-wage career paths across transportation, construction, manufacturing, and more.

  • Engage with interactive touch-screen displays that introduce them to different professions.

  • Experience virtual reality simulators, letting them step into the shoes of skilled workers—from truck drivers to welders—without ever leaving campus.

Why It Matters

By bringing real-world career exploration directly to schools, Be Pro Be Proud bridges the gap between students and the workforce. For Woodland High students, this meant gaining firsthand exposure to opportunities they may never have considered before.

As America faces a shortage of skilled professionals, programs like Be Pro Be Proud are crucial for inspiring the next generation to take pride in trades that build, move, and sustain our communities.

Looking Ahead

Woodland High is grateful to Be Pro Be Proud for investing in our students’ futures. With experiences like this, our students are better equipped to dream big, explore career paths, and prepare for success after graduation.
