Dorchester School District Four will honor three outstanding employees as October’s Everyday Heroes during the Board of Trustees meeting on November 18. The Everyday Hero program recognizes staff members who demonstrate exceptional dedication, support, and service to the district. Each honoree will receive a certificate of appreciation and a distinguished coin from the Superintendent.

The first honoree is Ms. Tamara Rolack, Administrative Assistant at Woodland High School and DD4 School Bus Driver. A long-standing and trusted presence at Woodland, Ms. Rolack was nominated last year by Principal White and again this year for her continued commitment to the school community. For October, she received two nominations, one from Woodland Middle School Assistant Principal Mrs. LaTorsha Bryant and another from Woodland High School Assistant Principal Mr. Nicholas Charpia.

“Mrs. Rolack rolls from one duty to another and handles it all,” said Mrs. Bryant. “After running her bus duty and jumping into finding subs, organizing events, answering phones, she does it all. She keeps Woodland moving.”

Mr. Charpia shared similar praise, noting, “She is the glue that holds our school together. She does anything you ask of her with a smile and gives 100 percent in doing it. She is extremely good at multitasking and doesn’t skip a beat when handling multiple tasks at one time.”

Ms. Rolack’s reliability, professionalism, and heart for service make her an invaluable member of the Woodland team.

The district will also recognize Mrs. Carlie Nelson, Instructional Coach at Williams Memorial Elementary School. Mrs. Nelson was nominated by Principal Ruth Mims, who commended her for her leadership in supporting teachers and strengthening instruction throughout the school.

Principal Mims described Mrs. Nelson as someone who stays current with best practices, models lessons, co-teaches when needed, and helps staff analyze data to improve student outcomes. She also serves as a trusted resource for technology support and collaborates closely with administration to move the school forward. “No matter how many responsibilities she takes on, Carlie always keeps what is best for students and staff at the center of her work,” Mims said.

The third honoree, Mrs. Angela Crosby, serves as Benefits Coordinator and HR Specialist for Dorchester School District Four. She was nominated by Chief Human Resources Officer Dr. April Sanders, who praised her strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.

“Mrs. Crosby has been a great addition to the HR team,” Dr. Sanders said. “While learning the ropes and tackling her new role, she ensures the work gets done not just for the department but for everyone in DD4. Even in a short time, she has made a lasting mark. Her servant heart, compassion, and drive to learn make this honor well deserved.”

The district looks forward to celebrating Ms. Rolack, Mrs. Nelson, and Mrs. Crosby at the November 18 Board Meeting. Their dedication and service embody the spirit of the Everyday Hero program and strengthen the foundation of Dorchester School District Four.
