Woodland High School FCCLA Members Earn National Recognition at 2026 FCCLA National Leadership Conference

During the week of July 5–11, 2026, eight outstanding young women from Woodland High School represented their school and community at the 2026 Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) National Leadership Conference (NLC) in Washington, D.C.

The 2026 FCCLA National Leadership Conference attracted more than 10,000 students, educators, and guests from across the nation. The conference provided participants with opportunities to strengthen their leadership skills, explore career pathways, develop workplace readiness, and learn from inspiring speakers and industry professionals.

A highlight of the conference was the Students Taking Action with Recognition (STAR) Events, FCCLA's premier competitive events program. More than 5,000 FCCLA members competed in events that recognize excellence in leadership, career preparation, and chapter and individual projects. Through the competition process, students gained valuable real-world experience while demonstrating the knowledge and skills they have developed through FCCLA.

Woodland High School's FCCLA members proudly represented their school by competing in several STAR Events, earning Gold and Silver medals, and serving in leadership roles. Their accomplishments reflected months of dedication, preparation, and hard work.

The highest honor of the week came during the National Awards Session, where Roxanna Britt, Janelle Footman, and Justice Pryor were recognized as Top Ten finalists in the nation for their Interpersonal Communication STAR Event. The team earned third place nationally and received Gold Medals, an extraordinary achievement that brought national recognition to Woodland High School.

Kerri Davis – Silver Medal, Career Investigation
Jaziya Davis, Erin Garvin, and Shavonne Smith – Silver Medals, National Programs in Action
Betsy Augustin – Served as a STAR Events Judge, demonstrating leadership and professionalism while assisting with the national competition.
