The Board appreciates the manner in which members of the community have expressed their concerns regarding a personnel matter in the District. While the District respects the opinions of all members of the community, the Board is legally prohibited by the United States Supreme Court decision of Bostock vs. Clayton County from making employment decisions on the basis of an employee’s gender identity. 

The Board has met with the administration to ensure that individual rights of students and families are respected and students will not be required to compromise their beliefs by being required to use a specific gender pronoun. We ask for the community’s continued support as we strive to provide the best education possible for our students.
