After meeting with our safety team and local officials, Dorchester School District 4 will cancel all after-school activities today, Thursday, September 26th, and will move to an E-Learning Day on Friday, September 27th.
This decision was made based on the projected forecast of rain overnight in addition to sustained winds and potential wind gusts in the early morning hours from Hurricane Helene.
Schools will be reaching out with e-learning instructions.
Your safety remains our foremost concern. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this time.

DD4 Elementary School Soccer Program
Interested in your son or daughter playing soccer this Fall? Well here’s your chance. Dorchester School District Four will be hosting their very own soccer program this school year during the months of October and November and it will be available to all students across our school district in grades 1st through 5th.
Things to know about the program:
Registration to play will be $20.00. This fee pays for a team shirt and a set of shin guards (shin guards will be required to be worn during all games).
Students will be placed on a team at their school, and all teams will be coed. Coaches will consist of teachers, staff members, administrators, parents, and/or volunteers from your child’s school.
All students will play at least six games which will take place on Wednesday or Thursdays starting at 6:00 P.M. All games will take place at Woodland High School’s stadium.
There will be a playoff the last week of the season.
Practices will take place once a week immediately after school. The day of the week for practice will be based on the coach’s schedule.
Students will be expected to demonstrate positive school behavior in order to participate.
Students must be present at school on the day of a game or practice in order to play that day.
There will be no games or practices on the weekends.
The primary purpose of this program is simple:
Bring our schools and communities together in a fun and exciting way.
Keep students active in an organized sport.
Teach students the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship.
Develop a feeder program for our soccer program at Woodland H.S.
If interested, please complete the registration form on page two and submit it to your child’s school with the $20.00 registration fee by Friday, September 13, 2024.

Continuing a long-standing tradition, the varsity football players from @woodlandhighsc paid a special visit to Williams Memorial Elementary School ! The team hopped off the bus and jumped right into action, working the car rider line. Decked out in their jerseys, they opened doors, greeted students, and shared high-fives with excited elementary schoolers. After all the car riders were safely inside, the players chose books from the library and visited classrooms in pairs to read to the students.
A huge thank you to the team, their principals, Mr. White and Mrs. Mims, Head Coach Ford, and Athletic Director Coach Sibert for keeping this awesome tradition alive! #thewood #StudentLeaders #teamspirit
