After meeting with our safety team and local officials, Dorchester School District 4 will cancel all after-school activities today, Thursday, September 26th, and will move to an E-Learning Day on Friday, September 27th. This decision was made based on the projected forecast of rain overnight in addition to sustained winds and potential wind gusts in the early morning hours from Hurricane Helene. Schools will be reaching out with e-learning instructions. Your safety remains our foremost concern. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this time.

Our Amazing Cafeteria manager, Kacey Britt, hosted "Dinner Etiquette" with our students on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. The trip was in cooperation with the St. George Rosenwald School. Students learned how to set the table, use the correct forks and spoons for meals, and the proper way to hold a glass. Students also got to visit the Children's museum and explore the history of St. George, SC. Thank you for your dedication and hard work Mrs. Britt. Special thanks to Ms. Shiela Keaise at the St. George Rosenwald School for coordinating the visit.

🌟 Shoutout to Mrs. Griffith and Mrs. Berry at Harleyville Elementary School for leading an awesome lesson! Her students were fully engaged in centers, practicing skills they've been working on during lessons. One of the activities had students retelling stories with their friends, while others worked on counting sets using a ten frame, identifying letters, counting groups, and sharpening their social skills by sharing and problem-solving. It's amazing to see such interactive and thoughtful learning in action! 📚👏 #LearningInAction #HES #EngagedLearners #TeacherSpotlight

Here at CHES we believe in the transformative impact of words. Positive language can build confidence, enhance learning, and create a classroom atmosphere where every student feels valued. When we choose words that uplift, encourage, and inspire, we help our students see their potential and persevere through challenges. Remember, a simple "You can do it!" or "I believe in you!" can make all the difference. Join us for our first "Speak Life" Day at CHES!

Coach ford 100 wins
On Wednesday night, the Woodland Middle School - DD4 Wolves played against Gregg Middle School. Although they didn't bring home the win, the boys still demonstrated wonderful teamwork, sportsmanship, and perseverance. They kept their heads held high showing nothing but smiles the whole time. This was their first official game of the season so we're very excited for the games to come. Their next game will be held at Woodland High School on September 18th at 6:00pm against James Island Middle School. #GoWolves! ~ Story and Photos by Bailee Johnson, a Junior and "Campus Creator" at Woodland High School. WMS Football Team kneeling
The Woodland Middle School - DD4 Lady Wolves may not have secured a win last night, but they showcased a strong team spirit and looked sharp in their brand-new uniforms. Despite the outcome, the girls were all smiles, enjoying every moment on the court during what was only the second home game ever held at the new Woodland Middle School. Their next challenge awaits at Alston Middle School on Monday at 6 p.m. #GoWolves

Dear DD4 Family, In light of recent events across the nation, including those in Winder, GA, we want to reassure our community that student safety remains our district's top priority. We are aware of the ongoing social media posts circulating both nationally and within our state that hint at potential incidents. Although there are no direct threats to any of our schools, we will continue to take proactive measures to ensure the safety and security of all students and staff by increasing vigilance, collaborating with local law enforcement, and maintaining open communication with our school communities.

DD4 Elementary School Soccer Program Interested in your son or daughter playing soccer this Fall? Well here’s your chance. Dorchester School District Four will be hosting their very own soccer program this school year during the months of October and November and it will be available to all students across our school district in grades 1st through 5th. Things to know about the program: Registration to play will be $20.00. This fee pays for a team shirt and a set of shin guards (shin guards will be required to be worn during all games). Students will be placed on a team at their school, and all teams will be coed. Coaches will consist of teachers, staff members, administrators, parents, and/or volunteers from your child’s school. All students will play at least six games which will take place on Wednesday or Thursdays starting at 6:00 P.M. All games will take place at Woodland High School’s stadium. There will be a playoff the last week of the season. Practices will take place once a week immediately after school. The day of the week for practice will be based on the coach’s schedule. Students will be expected to demonstrate positive school behavior in order to participate. Students must be present at school on the day of a game or practice in order to play that day. There will be no games or practices on the weekends. The primary purpose of this program is simple: Bring our schools and communities together in a fun and exciting way. Keep students active in an organized sport. Teach students the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship. Develop a feeder program for our soccer program at Woodland H.S. If interested, please complete the registration form on page two and submit it to your child’s school with the $20.00 registration fee by Friday, September 13, 2024.
